FAQs

FAQs

  • How much do you charge?  Our fees are charged based on a supply and demand basis, including, under some circumstances, additional fees when we are to provide you immediate service in crucial situations.  Therefore, our paralegals are billed out on a case by case basis based upon the circumstances and the work requested to be performed under the parties' set Paralegal Retainer Agreement.  Costs are billed in addition to the paralegal fees.

  • What are considered costs?  Costs are billed for items such as filing fees, binders, folders, travel costs, hotel, copies (the first two-hundred (200) black and white copies are free), storage devices (i.e. cd, dvd, usb flash drive) and other costs not associated with our normal business operations, but due to the client's/firm's needs for that particular case.

  • How does hiring a contract/freelance paralegal save money?  Think about this, an experienced paralegal will make around $50,000/year.  Now add on the overhead of insurance, worker's compensation, vacation pay, sick-leave, etc.  With a contract/freelance paralegal, you have no overhead and you only pay for the time you hire them.  Also, you can usually bill out their time to your clients and potentially make money on them.  The top advantage... you don't have to train and monitor them!  Kim Briggs is approved with several insurance companies making the billing of Kim's hours that much easier.

  • How does the process work?  First you will need to contact our office to discuss your needs.  Once the parties have discussed the options and, if necessary, a conflict check is completed, we will send you a Paralegal Retainer Agreement ("Agreement") containing the parties' terms.  An authorized individual will sign the Agreement and our work will begin.  Your firm will need to email or mail us all necessary information and what jobs you need us to complete on your clients/firms behalf.  If cost effective, we will come to your office to pick up/drop off documents, discuss the case or prep for trial. Depending on the circumstances, we can negotiate situations that would require us to be present to perform our work at your place of business.  Obvioulsy, if hired on a temporary (temp) basis, we would be present at your place of buisiness.  It's that easy!
